is a Managed Resource Protected Area that covers an area of about 400km², situated on the east coast of South Sinai, right between Dahab and Nuweiba. It protects various coastal and mountain ecosystems that are unique to the Gulf of Aqaba. The coral reef is mostly undisturbed with a high diversity of reef fish, whose richness of its flora and fauna is overwhelming. The reef at Abu Galoom supports an active Bedouin artisan fishery ,They supply as well the local restaurants with the fish they get throughout the day.

However, the fishery is being regulated just some years ago to reduce the damage done to the delicate coral reef. Probably, Abu Galoom is one of the most beautiful protectorates in Egypt. Its height mountains, its Valleys, fresh water springs, its designed sand dunes, coral reef and unique marine life, this area hosts about 167 plant species. About 45 of these species can only be seen in Abu Galoom and are unique to this area. To protect Abu Galoom as a Natural Resource Area, it is only allowed to drive on marked trails that have been prepared by Bedouins , and even Eco travel in this area is more preferred by locals and tourist alike , As our Bedouin guides are going to lead you with camels along the beach from the blue hole for 1 hour and half of splendid walk or ride along the beach viewing the magical Gulf of Aqaba with it's unique designed granite mountains and calm waters with bright skies and warm dry temperature ...

Our aim off traveling the area and doing our designed program with Bedouins is to involve the locals with our work to eliminate the over fishing practices and to make them keep in mind the value and the importance of conservation of there resources to them and to the next generations and for the sake of the the environment . The more we can Sustaining them with other sources of income the more we can achieve conservation for the marine life and inhabitants in the area from instinct ...

Flora:

It houses 167 plant species, 45 of these species are seen only in this area. It is a florist frontier falling under the influence of a tropical climate but having predominantly Mediterranean conditions.

Fauna:

Abu Galoom contains the largest number of Nubian Ibex, Hyrax, Red Fox and Striped Hyena. Ten species of lizards and snakes have been identified in the area where three of them are very dangerous namely the Black Cobra, the Horned Viper and Burton’s Carpet Viper ( Not to be found in our camping area , in the deep desert only ).

The Abu Galoom Protected Area is managed to ensure that its natural resources are safeguarded from all destructive activities. As a result, diving sites and shore access points are being prepared, nature trails through mountain areas have been identified, the area is being kept clean, Bedouin fishing activities are regulated, and a visitor center is under construction...

Abu Galoom is an awesome experience for Eco-divers who wants to enjoy protected marine life environment in a quite and relaxing atmosphere and an Eco friendly way of life . And to learn about other culture as Bedouin culture and there way of life with a mixture of safe venture in the magical east cost of the Sinai peninsula
